Is Obopay safe and secure?
When you sign up for Obopay through your bank, you will receive your secret Mobile Personal Identification Number or MPIN (generated by your bank). This MPIN will always be required to use the Obopay service and should never ever be disclosed by you to anyone.

So don’t worry, even if you unfortunately lose your phone, your money always remains safe & protected.

Will I get phone spam if I sign up?
No. We only send you text (SMS) messages when you sign up and when there's activity on your account (for instance, you receive money or someone requests money from you). If you are using SMS or WAP and have not downloaded the Obopay application, Obopay IVR calls you when someone requests money from you.
What if my phone is lost or stolen?
Should you lose your phone, you should contact your bank Customer Support immediately to notify them of the loss. You are anyways safe as in any case, no one can access your bank accounts without knowing your MPIN. Since the MPIN is not stored on the phone, your money is safe.
What happens to the OBOPAY Application on the lost phone?
After you have got a SIM card re-issued with the operator, all you have to do is send SMS to 56161 with “Obopay” and your old application on the lost handset will be rendered invalid.
What if I get a new phone or phone number?
If you get a new phone and use the same number as before, and using the Obopay application you will be required to re-download Obopay onto your new phone. If you receive a new mobile number, you need to call your bank’s customer support center to notify them. They in-turn will update the new number in the Obopay system.

What is the security measure handled by Obopay in case I change my mobile number?t?
In case your old mobile number is reissued to somebody, Obopay prevents the new customer in viewing the older customer transactions that were done by a different customer using the same mobile number.
What happens if I lose my cell phone signal while using Obopay?
If your request was sent to the server before you lost your signal, the request will continue to be processed. If the request was not received by the server, the request will be cancelled. You can confirm the status by accessing account history.
Can my account get suspended or locked?
Yes,should we detect suspicious activity on your account, we do suspend it. An account can also get suspended if you fail to enter the correct MPIN three times. Your other accounts will continue to remain active. In extreme cases where we detect fraudulent activity, we do lock the customer out from all accounts.
What do I do if my account gets suspended or locked?
Your account gets suspended only for 24 hours. After that you are free to use it as before. However, if you happen to get locked out, you will need to call bank’s customer support center to unlock your bank status.
What is MPIN?
MPIN stands for Mobile Personal Identification Number and is prompted for customer authentication for every transaction initiated by the customer. You will always require MPIN to transact using Obopay

What are the MPIN rules that should be fulfilled when the MPIN is setup?
MPIN is numeric only and it is at least 4 digits in length. There should be no spaces between the digits.
Is my MPIN safe?
Your MPIN is absolutely safe because it is not stored anywhere on the phone and is sent to the server using a secure connection. It is also stored in an encrypted manner and the same cannot be accessed by anyone.
